One that will last more than a few hours?

Destruction Obsession
Your dog doesn’t want to sleep on the hard floor any more than you do. Why then, is your pooch obsessed with shredding dog bed after dog bed? You want him to be comfortable; doesn’t he get that?
Pet parents, don’t you hate coming home to find that your fur baby has absolutely destroyed her crate pad? Again.
The Dog Bed Search
For over thirteen years, I’ve been searching for a great dog bed, one that won’t be mistaken as a chew toy or teething ring by my dogs. In addition, I was in search of a bed that the dogs would prefer over the hard wood or tile floor.
Historically, I wouldn’t spend more than $50 per dog bed, fearful they would end up in the trash after a few weeks. $50ish multiplied by three dogs, three or four times a year…the expense starts to add up. Frustrated with the money I spent, or wasted, I gave up.
Old blankets, sheets and towels turned into bedding material for the dogs. These also ended up in shreds, but at least I was able to repurpose our old bedding and towels, for a while.
Eventually the repurposed bedding would end up in the trash and I would buy new beds for the boys. I wanted them to have nice, pretty, cushioned and comfy beds. Thus, the cycle began again.
I Got Serious
Exasperated, this past spring, I decided to get serious. I began my search for quality dogs beds. Considering the amount of money I’d been spending annually on dog beds, I was ready to invest in some serious dog beds.
Ever-helpful Google found K9 Ballistics LUX Reversible Crate Pad Cream Fur/Khaki Tan Micro – Medium (41″x28″).
K9 Ballistics Offers

Why Not?
My decision to buy a more expensive dog bed wasn’t an impulse buy. I read the reviews and the guarantee. Impressive. I thought, “Why not try them out?”
Unpacking
My Mistake
My mistake could have been worse and I believe in full disclosure. I thought all of the K9 Ballistics dog beds were “chew proof.” When I unpacked the crate pads I found the packing slip which clearly stated that these weren’t “chew proof.” How could I have missed that very important detail? Live and learn, right?
However, four months later and still no holes or tears in the fabric! While our dogs haven’t chewed their beds, your dog may need the tougher version.
Keeping Them Clean
Every other week, the crate pads get laundered and set out to air dry. This summer I’ve been putting them out in the sun or in front of a fan on rainy days. When the crate pads get washed in the morning they’re dry by evening.
Months Later
Our pups have been enjoying their LUX crate pads for over four months. In my opinion, the LUX crate pads are of high quality and construction. The plush material is holding up nicely and the seams are still tightly stitched together.
BTW…Is Your Dog A Barker?
Ours are!
Our dogs, are LOUD. And annoying with their nuisance barking. They’ve responded well to the bark deterrent we tried this summer. If you have a barker, check out my post Stop Barking-A Fast and Easy Solution.

Primo was with us for the unpacking video. Sadly, he wasn’t with us for the four month update. R.I.P. Primo. You were my “Supreme Dream.” Melissa
